Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo, commonly known as Pak Subuh, was an Indonesian spiritual teacher and founder of the international spiritual movement known as Subud. He was born on June 22, 1901, in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, and died on June 28, 1987, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Subuh started developing his own spiritual practices at a young age and had several mystical experiences before founding Subud in 1957. The movement is based on the belief that individuals can access a spiritual force known as the latihan kejiwaan, which allows them to connect with their inner selves and reach a higher state of consciousness.
Subuh is known for his emphasis on the importance of personal experience rather than beliefs or dogma. He traveled extensively around the world to spread the teachings of Subud, and the movement has since grown to have members in over 70 countries.
Pak Subuh is remembered as a spiritual leader and teacher who inspired many people to explore their own spiritual paths and to seek a deeper meaning in life. His teachings continue to influence Subud members around the world and remain a prominent force in the spiritual landscape of Indonesia.
